Susan A. Rector, DDS

Dr. Susan A. Rector was born in Moline, IL and grew up in Dubuque, IA.  She attended Iowa State University, earning a B.S. in Zoology in 1991.  She completed her dental degree at the University of Iowa in 1996.  Following dental school, she moved to New York City for her oral & maxillofacial surgery residency and earned her certificate in 2000. She joined Mississippi Valley Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, P.C. in July of 2000.

Dr. Rector is board certified by The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and The National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.  She is a fellow in The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Other professional organizations include: The American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Scott County Dental Society and Iowa Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She is a past president for the Davenport District of the Iowa Dental Association and past president of the Iowa Society of Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons.   She is on the medical staff of Genesis Hospital and maintains certifications in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support.  Dr. Rector has served on the adjunct faculty at the University of Iowa College of Dentristry.  She was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Honor Society for service to the profession of dentistry.  Dr. Rector also serves on many community organization boards including the John Deere Classic, the First Tee of the Quad Cities and the University of Iowa Dental Alumnae Board.  

Dr. Rector is married and has two daughters.  She enjoys reading, playing golf and spending time with family.
